The Krasnodar Region and China plan to develop cooperation in the field of agricultural complex
A business meeting of the Regions Governor Veniamin Kondratyev with the delegation of COFCO International was held in Krasnodar today.
As the Head of the Kuban noted, the country has long established strong trade relations with China. Fish, cereals, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, flour, sunflower oil, ice cream are supplied to China. In the opinion of the Head of the Region, the business dialogue should be further strengthened, as the press service of the Krasnodar Region Administration informs.
We are the agrarian region, and a lot of agricultural products are grown and produced in the region. And we can export a huge range of products to China at an affordable price in the future, Veniamin Kondratyev emphasized.
According to him, Kuban is ready to establish cooperation in many areas. For example, to provide an investment site for the construction of the vegetable oil and flour production complex. It is also planned to attract Chinese investors for the development of deep processing and to organize the supply of high-quality Kuban poultry meat in the PRC.
The CEO of COFCO International, Chi Jintao, also expressed interest in cooperation. He clarified that the corporation procures corn, rice and wheat, and provides deep processing of grain. The companys branch is located in Krasnodar where about 20 employees work. The volume of purchased grain is 1 million tons, however it is not enough, Chi Jintao believes. It is planned to increase this figure to 2-3 million tons in the future.
The purpose of our trip is to implement this idea. Favorable conditions for foreign investors have been created in the region. We will develop a turnover with the region based on our production facilities in the Chinese market. I hope that our cooperation will enter a new stage, Chi Jintao emphasized.
